Frequently Asked CBD Questions
WHAT IS CBD?
CBD is a natural essential oil extracted from the hemp plant. CBD, technically known as Cannabidiol. It is praised and scientifically proven for its wide range of benefits for the body and mind. Hemp plant derivatives have been widely used by humans for thousands of years.
WHO SHOULD USE CBD?
The most common results of taking it is to improve sleep, to create a sense of calm and focus; relief from inflammation; reduction of stress and anxiety, and treatment of skin rashes, and skin rejuvenation. At Precise CBD we believe our products can benefit a broad and diverse group of people and pets, and we focus on individuals and pet owners who continue to challenge themselves physically and mentally, providing them with a comprehensive set of botanical solutions to pursue their goals.
HOW DOES CBD WORK?
CBD connects with our neuro receptors to influence various parts of the body. There are two main receptors in the body:
- CB1 Receptors – are mostly centered around the brain. They influence pain, emotion, moods, appetite, among other things.
- CB2 Receptors – are present in the immune system. Generally, they affect the digestive system, as well as inflammation.
To understand how CBD works, you must first know how your Endocannabinoid System works. An endocannabinoid is a cannabinoid that is produced by your own body. A phytocannabinoid is a cannabinoid that is produced by a plant. All cannabinoids (both endo- and phyto-) are responsible for bringing your body back into balance, or homeostasis. They do this by acting as signal messengers for your Endocannabinoid System. Wherever there is imbalance, inflammation or disharmony, cannabinoids are working in your endocannabinoid system to restore order.
In short, CBD is a phytocannabinoid that works with your body to optimize the effects of beneficial endocannabinoids.
HOW IS CBD DIFFERENT FROM THC?
CBD does NOT cause a psychoactive high – unlike THC. Although THC and CBD both come from the cannabis plant, the compounds act dramatically different. CBD comes from the female species of the cannabis plant whereas marijuana, which contains THC, comes from the male plant.
HEMP | MARIJUANA |
High in CBD | High in THC |
Low in THC | Low in CBD |
Non-psychoactive | Psychoactive |

WHAT IS “THC FREE”?
“THC-Free” means that there are NO traceable amounts of THC in our products as validated by any testing equipment in the market. The vast majority of CBD products in the market fall under the .3% legal limit for THC, however laboratory testing can detect some levels of THC in those products, which poses risk to those subject to random drug testing.
We remediate all traceable amounts of THC from our oil through advanced scientific and chemistry techniques. We use a DEA-certified lab to test every batch of our products. Non-detectable’ is the term used by testing laboratory to validate their equipment could not detect any levels of the THC molecule in a product. These “certificates of analysis” provided by the lab are accessible to our consumers via QR Code labels on each of our products.
Most companies do not remove all trace amounts of THC from their products simply because it is significantly more expensive to do so. This process requires specialized equipment and expertise to achieve non-detectable levels in the refinement process, and it also means that you lose more than 50% of your oil in the process of remediation. Most companies don’t want to absorb those costs.
WILL I GET "HIGH" FROM USING CBD?
NO. CBD is a non-intoxicating component from hemp, which legally must have less than 0.3 percent of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). There’s no “high” or euphoric effect from using CBD.
SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT DRUG TESTING WHEN TAKING CBD?
If the CBD product manufacturer can prove to you with independent laboratory testing results (Certificates of Analysis) that they have non-detectable levels of THC, then you can have a high degree of confidence confidentce that THC molecules will not appear on normal drug testing. All PreciseCBD ingestible products contain zero or non-detectable levels of THC which are validated by a DEA-certified laboratory.

While there is no ‘official serving size’ or standard dose’ and it varies from person to person. Your best dosage levels will be based on a variety of factors including your weight, severity of symptoms, metabolism, the type of product you’re using, and body type. As a baseline, our suggested dosage is 0.25mg CBD multiplied by your body weight in pounds on a daily basis. Ideally, split your does equally between morning and evening. For the best potential for success, we recommend some experimentation and consistent usage to determine the right dosage for you. It can take 2-3 weeks to ultimately calibrate the proper dosage. It’s important to note that for most people, it takes between 7-10 days to begin feeling the impact of CBD from ingestible products, For topical products that treat inflammation or aches and pains, effective CBD products tend to work pretty quickly.

WHAT IS ISOLATE VS BROAD SPECTRUM VS FULL SPECTRUM?
When shopping for CBD you’ll see terms like Broad or Full Spectrum and maybe even Isolate. A definition of each follows:
Full Spectrum CBD – this is when CBD extracted from the hemp plant includes all of its the compounds along with CBD. This includes various terpenes, flavonoids, other cannabinoids, with THC content being below the 0.3% legal level. Full spectrum oil also contains some undesirable properties that give it a “weedy” scent because it contains chlorophylls, lipids and waxes from the plant.
Broad Spectrum CBD – this is when the CBD extracted from the hemp plant includes all the compounds along with CBD, but does NOT contain any THC as it has been removed through a refinement process.
CBD Isolate – this is when the CBD extracted from the hemp plant is in its purest form. It is separated from all other compounds. CBD Isolate goes through an extensive remediation process in a laboratory to achieve the highest levels of purity. Hence, isolate is pure CBD as the name suggests.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INGESTIBLE AND TOPICAL CBD PRODUCTS?
Ingestible products such as tinctures, gummies, and capsules are best to help you sleep better, reduce anxiety and stress, inflammation, and digestive track issues. Topical products are best suited for sore muscles, joint or arthritic aches, skin rashes, inflammation, skin moisturization and skin renewal.
What’s clear from various scientific studies is that incorporating cannabinoids into your regimen can have a real positive impact on issues such as pain, sleep, stress and anxiety.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEMP OIL AND CBD OIL?
Hemp and CBD oils come from two similar, but different part of the hemp plant. Hemp oil is made by pressing the seeds of the hemp plant into an omega-rich oil used in a variety of recipes and products. CBD oil, however, is made by extracting the compound CBD from the leaves, flowers and stalks of a hemp plant. Hemp oil typically does not contain any CBD.
IS CBD USE PERMITTED IN PRO & AMATEUR SPORTS?
In 2018 both the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) removed CBD from their prohibited list for both in and out of competition. Organizations which comply with WADA policies include all International Federations, as well as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and more than 200 US anti-doping agencies. Athletes can legally consume CBD in the US, as long as it has been extracted from hemp plants. When extracted from hemp, CBD oil contains less than 0.3% THC, and is not considered a controlled substance by the federal government.
WADA’s current threshold for THC is 150 nanograms (ng) per milliliter (ml), which is tested via a urine test. CBD adhering to the US federal requirement of containing no more than 0.3% THC is compliant with WADA, which is why we use a rigorous six phase independent testing protocol to provide our customers with the confidence that Champions.
It is important that all athletes carefully review the regulations associated with the competitions and sporting events they participate in.
